Labor Accounting

Labor Accounting enables schools and departments to manage employee account profiles, additional compensation, and cost transfers through the People @ Columbia (PAC) system.

The following four functions are processed in PAC:

  • Hire/Rehire templates with salary distribution and additional compensation
  • Salary Distribution
  • Additional Compensation
  • Cost Transfers

Training

Online Training (Required)

In order to access the Labor Accounting functions in PAC, you must complete the online lesson(s) and knowledge check(s) associated with your role. A syllabus is available on the Labor Accounting CourseWorks training site that describes the roles and trainings required. You can also review guidance on PAC roles, approval levels and training requirements in the Security Manual Job Aid.

Log in with your UNI and password, and then click on "PAC Labor Accounting Training Site". The courses can be accessed by clicking on the “Files & Resources” link on the left hand side of the page.

Taking the online training and successfully completing the knowledge check(s) are required before using the new Labor Accounting system. Specific training lessons will depend on which functionality you will be using. Please review the syllabus on the CourseWorks site for guidance on which lessons are required for your role.

Classroom Training

In addition to the online training lessons, there are classroom sessions available.  Instructor-led classroom sessions include:

  •   “Processing Template Based Hires” - required for access to the Hire/Rehire templates with salary distribution and additional compensation
  • “PAC Refresher Sessions” - for learners who attended a prior PAC training session or completed the online Labor Accounting lessons and provides the opportunity to ask questions and practice actions specific to your needs in PAC.

Who can I contact regarding Labor Accounting?

For assistance, please submit the request through the PAC Service Center via the Create New Incident form.  In your request, please provide the affected employee ID(s), employee name(s), account code number(s), department #(s), and a brief summary of your concern or problem.
