There is no formal performance management program for union support staff and they do not receive written performance evaluations. However, managers are expected to regularly coach staff and provide feedback on job performance. In addition, some unions have job standards such as timeliness, appearance, etc. There are a number of tools and resources available through the performance management program to help managers provide coaching and feedback. The HR Client Manager and Labor Relations should be consulted regarding documenting poor performance of union employees.
- Complete the Probationary Performance Evaluation Form in a timely way after hire
- Consult your HR Client Manager and the Office of Labor Relations for guidance on managing performance of union support staff, even though there is no formal performance management process for these employees
