Managing Administrative Officers’ Work Performance
In accordance with the University’s Performance Management and Appraisal Policy, all officers of administration should receive written feedback about their performance once a year, unless there are issues that require more frequent documentation. The performance management process is designed to help managers of officers of administration to consistently ensure staff members are working to support the University’s strategies and goals. The Officers: Guide to Managing Performance contains details on guidelines, process, forms, training and other tools for providing coaching and feedback.
Key Actions:
-
Provide all officers of administration with written feedback about their performance at least once per year
-
Follow the steps outlined in the Officers: Guide to Managing Performance to plan, coach and review performance
-
Please use the University's online Performance Appraisal Form, unless your school or department has indicated otherwise. There is also a Performance Appraisal Job Aid to help you use the form.
-
Engage the department’s HR Client Manager and/or the Office of the General Counsel early in the process if there are performance issues or concerns, as warranted by the issues’ nature and severity
